What GDPR is
General Data Protection Regulation [Regulation (EU) 2016/679] has been applied throughout the European Union since 23th May 2018. The purpose of the Regulation is to provide the same level of protection to data of all natural persons so that powerful rights for data subjects are asserted across the European Union.

SOFOS INSURANCE AGENCY SA is a company located in the municipality of Zografou Attikis, 14 Paianias Str TAX Reg. Always consistent with legal and regularity obligations, and guided by the interest of insureds-clients as well as our associates, our company has established policies and procedures that safeguard the correct and lawful use of personal data. Furthermore, our company has taken all the appropriate organizational and technical measures to provide high-level services with a view to protecting personal data.
The purpose of this text is to inform the policy holder/insured (data subject) about the company's operations of collecting, processing and storing his data, which is carried out according to the provisions of articles 7 and 9 of the General Regulation of Personal Data GDPR (EU)/ 679/2016).

Why do we collect personal data?
Our company collects, processes and stores your data in the context of its operation as an insurance agent. In this regard, our company proceeds to the activities at the request of the data subject and intermediates between an insurance company and the data subject, brings the data subject into contact with an insurance company, and assists in taking the necessary steps for entering an insurance policy, receives approval by the insurance company for it and assists in management and performance, especially in the event of a claim.
What are the sources of our information?
Our company collects personal data provided by you. More specifically, we collect the personal data that you provide to us either in written or oral, especially data included in the documents regarding customer's insurance demands and needs, the insurance proposal, their accompanying and supporting documents, and any other data that the data subject provides to us by any means, written, electronic communication, oral, through our employees or through insurance intermediaries we cooperate with.
Which categories of personal data do we process?
Our company collects and processes the following categories of personal data:
- Identification data (e.g., name, surname, date of birth, ID card/passport/social security/ tax registration number).
- Contact details data (e.g., mailing/email address, phone/fax number).
- Data that are relevant to insurance, namely data required for entering an insurance policy or its performance and handling (e.g., data concerning financial/asset situation, investment/savings targets, health information, medical files, social security records, driving history records ).
- Settlement Data, i.e. data necessary for the management of insurance claims contained in the application for compensation/repurchase/insurance payment or in accompanying documents/documents related to the latter.
To where do we transfer your data?

Period of personal data storage
Our company collects, stores and generally processes your data in any way for a period of up to twenty (20) years from the termination of your insurance policy and up to five (5) years in cases where no insurance policy is concluded with the company.
However, you reserve the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
Your rights
The General Data Protection regulation stipulates rights that can be exercised at any time. Specifically, you have the following rights:

Exercise of the abovementioned rights requires the submission, free of charge, of a written application to the email address dpo@sofos-ins.gr or to our premises established in Zografou Attica, 14 Paianias Str, 15771.

Our company will respond to your request within one (1) month of its receipt if this is possible. Otherwise, we will inform you of any prolongation of this time limit.
We would like to inform you that our response to your applications is given free of charge, in case you should request more than one (1) copy of your data being processed, you may be charged a reasonable administrative fee. Before the imposition, our company will inform you about the exact amount of the fee.

In case of exercising any of the abovementioned rights, our company will take any measures necessary for its fulfillment within thirty (23) calendar days of receiving the relevant application, informing you in writing of its satisfaction, or the reasons that prevent the exercise .
